Join Dorchester Choral Society
We are a friendly choir that welcomes new joiners.
New singers are always welcome; you will be invited to join rehearsals for a couple of weeks before having an informal and straighforward audition. Everyone is expected to be able to sight-read simple music.
Occasionally we may have a waiting list for a particular voice part and we would tell you if this were the case.

Rehearsals
We rehearse weekly in term time on a Monday evening from 7.30 until 9.30 pm right in the centre of Dorchester in the United Church, South Street, Dorchester DT1 1BY. There are car parks nearby which are free in the evenings.
Subscriptions
You pay an annual subscription at the start of the Autumn term (currently £180 for 2025-2026) to cover the running costs of the choir. Concessions are available for students and others - please ask. We want our choir to be as inclusive as possible.
Music
We lend choir members their scores for the pieces we are singing.
Running the Choir
We are a properly registered charity (No 285911) so no-one is making a profit from what we do! The choir's committee is elected annually and we are always looking for volunteers to help with different tasks.
